BIRTHDAY GIRL TABU TURNS 42

Birthday Girl: Tabu turns 42!
The golden girl of Indian Cinema turns a year older. A truly international star, Tabu is a veritable fount of talent. On her birthday, here's a look at some of her memorable performances. Personally, she is my one of the favourites, mainly due to her fabulous and matured acting. Although, she did a few hindi movies, she had managed to grab national awards multiple times. Here's a sneak peek on her credibility as an actress.

Though it was Ang Lee, Suraj Sharma and Richard Parker who dominated the film, Tabu as the mother of young Pi made for a compulsive viewing.

Playing the love interest to the much older Big B, Tabu stood her own against Bachchan Senior. The role in Cheeni Kum fetched her Best Actress (Critics Choice) by Filmfare.

She acted brilliantly in the Mira Nair's flick "The Namesake"

Madhur Bhandarkar's Chandni Bar is easily one of the best performances Tabu has given. Her stellar act got her the National Film Award for Best Actress.

It was with Astitva that Tabu became the star that she is. Essaying a powerful author-backed role of a housewife who errs, Tabu was the toast of the audience while picking up the Filmfare Award (Critics Choice).

As a young impressionable girl in love with a 'terrorist' Maachis was where her talent first got noticed. And she walked away with a National Award for Best Actress.
